We’re Claire and Nelson—high-school sweethearts, photographers, and the husband-and-wife team behind Rainey Photo Co. We like good light, old cameras, clear plans, and making people feel comfortable in front of the lens.

Our story began in high school, where we met, fell in love, and eventually got married. Years later, Nelson handed Claire his camera for a friend's senior session, and that experience became the beginning of Rainey Photo Co. We believe the best photographs feel honest and true to the people in them. Nelson's engineering background and Claire's work as an orthopedic physician assistant have shaped how we approach photography, too—with close attention to detail, steady communication, and the ability to adapt when the plan changes.

We started carrying a film camera on our travels because it made us slow down and pay attention. We still love its color, grain, and imperfect character. Film is available as an add-on to any session; each roll is developed and professionally scanned, then delivered alongside your digital photographs.
